Communities at the centre of government investment

Community Centres have long played a vital role in towns and villages across Offaly and thanks to funding announced by the government, they’re set to take centre stage again.

Centres across Offaly are to receive over €256,000 in funding as part of the Community Centre Investment Fund 2024 launched earlier this year.

This is a welcome announcement by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, and one which will benefit the whole community.

From Barna to Ballycumber and Birr to Clonbullogue, this funding announcement will benefit multiple groups spanning the county. All very worthy causes.

Kinnitty is just one example of the many centres set to benefit from the scheme, with €22,750 announced in November to upgrade the bathrooms.

The investment is set to support other recent upgrades to the centre, which include improvements to the building’s insulation, lighting and signage.

This announcement reaffirms the government’s commitment to communities across Offaly, and if you want to see more investment in Offaly and Edenderry, vote John Clendennen in the upcoming election.
